DIY Suncatchers

Materials: White glue, food coloring, toothpicks, plastic lids, hole punch, string

Pour glue into the plastic lid to cover the entire surface and place a few drops of food coloring into the glue, using a toothpick to swirl the colors around. Let your child mix to their heart’s desire, but mixing too much will result in a muddy color! Let the colors dry for 1-3 days (the dye will expand during this time). When the edges start to peel off the lid, remove the glue from the plastic, punch a hole in the edge, and tie a string to hang it up.

Upcycled Doormat Roadway

Materials: Old doormat, black duct tape, colored tape, scissors, permanent markers

Lay the black duct tape in your desired road formation, pulling the tape all the way over the edges to make sure they stay put. Then add yellow road markers. Use permanent markers and colored tape to make buildings along your roads (fire stations, post office, school, etc.). Get some cars out and go to town!
